broken on YouTube

Here are a few videos from a worship session we did at the First United Methodist Church of Decatur. It's almost a year old, but, hey, it's media!

The Holy Spirit Rained Down

Karen and I hopped in the car around 12:45 p.m. or so yesterday. We were en route to Decatur, AL, where we were going to mee Jon and the equipment around 2:30 p.m. We all caravaned to Hamilton, AL, where we had the pleasure of leading worship at Maywood Christian Camp for the second year in a row.

It was quite an experience.

When we arrived, the heat was on us like white on rice. The campers were going through mail call, so we waited in the shade so we could unload and set up the system.

Y'all, it was no sooner than the last cord was plugged in that Hurricane Crablegs hit that camp with Weather Channel force. The thunder cracked louder than any I'd ever heard, lightning downed a tree in the nearby pond, and sheets of rain were misting all over -- you guessed it -- our equipment.

We hustled to try to fix it, but I don't think it did much good. We turned the speaker boxes down on their faces and unplugged as much as we could. We loaded up as quickly as we could and parked the truck down by the cafeteria.

If we would have simply waited twenty minutes, everything would have been fine, but how could we have known that?

You see, God had other plans.

According to what we've been told, the night we come is typically a very spiritually high time. The culmination of changed lives, powerful lessons, God's naturally impressive landscape, and the Holy Spirit all press in such an urgently gentle manner on Thursdays.

The Holy Spirit Rained Down (just like we ask everytime we sing it) on us because it didn't want us in the pavilion. Instead, we were to sing an entirely off-mic' set in the cafeteria with the senior group right after five of them accepted the Lord.

We led worship for them and we could see the face Christ on our young brothers and sisters there at Maywood. The tears that flowed, the hands that raised, the eyes that closed, they were all a part of God's plan to move b r o k e n to a more intimate setting.

He is a mighty God!

Below are a few pictures from last night. Actually, the second to last one is from one of rehearsals. Not real sure how that one got in the mix, but oh well.

If anyone has any pictures of personal time in a b r o k e n led worship or with broken, please send them on so we can include them here.
